What To Do if You Inherit Real Estate

What to do if You Inherit Real Estate | Selling Your Home to a Real Estate Investor

Hi, my name is Jeff Friedman from Garden State Home Buyers and I’m here to tell you about a client of ours, Lisa, who inherited a home from her parents but didn’t know what to do with it. In this video, I’m going to show you exactly what we did with this property!

We bought this home in ‘as is’ condition with some damages from Lisa on her timeline. She was able to choose her closing date and she did not have to pay commission, closing costs, and got the highest net possible for the property.

When we first bought the property, the kitchen was a disaster! We were able to replace the old cabinets, take down an enclosing wall that made the area feel small, and redo the floors. We basically had to gut the entire property.

Sometimes investors get a bad wrap when they buy a home for cheap and flip it. Some people think we are making a fortune off and taking advantage of a seller’s situation. In this case, the buyer had no other option but to have someone come in and rehabilitate the house. Not to mention, flipping this home made the neighborhood value go up and the surrounding families love us now!

I hope this video provided helpful insight into what investors like us do and how we solve problems. We take homes that need a lot of work, fix them up all while increasing the value of the property and the neighborhood. If you think you or someone you know may need help with their current home or property, please feel free to reach out!
